Social Media Intern

Birch & Body is looking for a talented Social Media Intern to join our growing team! The Social Media Marketing Assistant will support social media strategy to drive acquisition, engagement, and conversion across social platforms.  You will be responsible for social media management from campaign ideation and content development to day-to-day execution.  You will work closely with the internal marketing team and external agencies on content creation and must have a strong ability to engage our audience, both visually and through written word.


 Develop social marketing plans that support the larger digital strategy, focusing primarily on

  • Social Media Engagement
  • Content Management
  • Influencer Initiatives
  • Events


  • Develop, execute & manage social media strategy to drive acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention across the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube
  • Manage content calendar, including some copywriting and asset creation that may require basic graphic design or photography
  • Day-to-day execution (scheduling, posting, promoting)
  • Manage one-on-one community engagement: respond to questions, reinforce positive comments, and remedy negative comments, engage with other’s content in the Birch& Body brand voice as the social media brand ambassador
  • Execute social sweepstakes – from concept, logistics and prize fulfillment
  • Create and maintain actionable reporting dashboards for social media KPIs
  • Monitor social trends and conversations to understand what our customers are saying in the social space, and share that understanding with the entire team to drive decision making for marketing campaigns
  • Develop strong relationships with community ambassadors and brand advocates, relevant influencers and strategic partners
  • Manage the brand voice of Birch & Body across social media while engaging in one-on-one dialog with followers: respond to Customer Service questions as needed, reinforce positive comments, and remedy negative comments.
  • Execute social sweepstakes - from app set up to prize fulfillment coordination
  • Identify future platforms and tactics to extend the brand’s voice socially, including researching and presenting opportunities for new social media platform experimentation.
  • Create and maintain actionable reporting dashboards for social media KPIs


  • Experience managing social channels for a consumer brand and a track record of proven results. Experience with beauty brands is a bonus.
  • Field of Study in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
  • Superior writing skills, a flair for communicating effectively for social, and demonstrated ability to create tastefully irreverent editorial content
  • Proficient in asset creation - be it Photoshop, or your amazing iPhone photos.
  • Strong understanding of social media metrics and ROI. Proficiency with monitoring and measurement tools and concepts.
  • Organized, self-managing, yet definitely a team player. Working well collaboratively is a must.
  • Strong at ideation, able to execute a project from start to finish independently if needed, and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment
